OINK ratio......


my day was fairly decent. got my assessments today- not too shabby.
Had an extended essay meeting which went well, Apparently, i'm on track which is good to hear.

Just got conclusion, evaluation, biblio and touchups and I'm in business

OINk is a nifty torrent downloading site, invites only membership. (Proper elite ) But your upload/download ratio has to be a certain amount to maintain membership.

The district supervisor whatever he's called bloke came in to TOK class today to talk to us about Thomas Kuhn's ideas on scientific revolutions. Absolutely riveting lecture. Really was very very exciting.

That was followed by mundane crap for the rest of the day. Oh well, Friday tomorrow.

Marching band game today. Rubbish. I've got tonnes of work to do too.

Weekend has been OK so far. Decided to stay at home on friday night to finish recording some stuff for a band i'm sessioning for.
Saturday, i had rock climbing in the morning, then i went to peninsula and met up with Matt, hung out there for a while and then went to his place for a bit.

Today, woke up, had coffee and breakfast. Talked to my dad and decided not to take the US History SAT II test next saturday -> big relief. Went to marching band at 11.15. Practiced for two hours because the fucking freshman can't do anything right, sweated alot. Then sat through 2 hours of Yank football, playing shit music. Came home, watched some of the Young Ones and had pasta salad with a bottle of Guinness for dinner. Then came upstairs, listened to some Merzbow, some Air Conditioning, some Edgard Varese and some Webern, while reading about musique concrete and noise (specifically about creation and theory behind those aspects, modular synthesisers, circuit construction, distortion of accoustic sounds etc.)

Going to go to bed now. Want to go on a bike ride tomorrow before the sun comes up.

Decent day today.

Had a meeting where I showed my first draft of my extended essay to my supervisor for the first time (though he's seen about 80% of my essay in sections beforehand). He liked it and gave me good feedback so that's going well. Makes me glad- I'd fucking loathe it if I was having issues with the whole thing.

Had tasty fucken noodles with gyoza dumplings for dinner which was pretty epic.

Have been listening to Nominon, Norther and Wintersun this evening which makes me very happy. I like Death Unlimited by Norther a hell of a lot, and Wintersun is an album i can listen to over and over and still enjoy.

I heard Norther had followed a similar path to CoB?

Days been good today. Delayed start, so slept in, classes were short and fairly easy. Got home and found some CDs in the post, which is always good. Should probably get on with some homework now.

Agreed 100%, that Norther album fucking rules, you shoudl listen tot heir first album its very intense as well.

Had a good day at school, simply because nothing totally crap happened.

Those days are the best.

Death unlimited isn't Norther's new album, Guod. Their new stuff isn't as good but I still think it's decent. Their latest, Till Death unite us, has a few good songs but is a fairly weak album as a whole.
I am optimisitic for their new one which is due soon. The video for Frozen Angel was really rather good, so was the teaser collection. I believe they got a new drummer.

I dunno what it is about Norther. Their shit isn't special, there is no amazing musicianship, no uber anything but I do like it a lot.

Today's not too shabby but then i'm sat in a free 1/2 at the moment, so things havn't had the chance to go crap. Slept to some falkenbach on the bus which was nice- was very tired this morning.

Jazz band was good. Need to work on my range.

Boring boring as usual. Listened to some Necros Christos on the bus which i found was a really good album to listen to when tired because the number of middle-eastern sounding acoustic/ambient tracks.
French 1/2 was shit, like always. My teacher is a damn vegetable. Old grumpy bitch.
TOK was pretty meh as well. Another lesson where our teacher just rambles on with a power point on whatever topic we're doing.
Eco. soc. was, not surprisingly, b-o-r-i-n-g. We just took down notes about enhanced acid deposition, or acid rain if you will.
Lunch consisted of sitting around in the Norwegian foodstall meeting for UN night which i just realised is next week.
At least i got to go home after lunch.

I said "Hail and Kill" to David on the morning bus today and Kos, Matt, Anupam and I all had big cups of milos too.

Today was a bit crap. Was up late last night getting all my work done, so fucking shattered this morning. Slumbered my way through Calculus, gym, and an extended Chemistry session (it was a lab, which was considerably better than the prospect of a lecture). After lunch I was literally falling asleep while walking through the corridors, unfortunately I had a spanish test and a history essay in the afternoon. Hope I've not done too poorly.
